In recognition of your significant contributions to human rights and your steadfast commitment to peace on our planet, Quinnipiac University is pleased to present you with an honorary degree of doctor of humane letters, this ninth day of May, two thousand and twenty-one.

We have been looking for ways to expand the impact of the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights during the Covid-19 pandemic. The workshop, Racial Justice, Minority Rights and Religious Freedom brought together students from a variety of schools across the US, hosting scholars, activists, and practitioners from around the world.

Our first Oxford Consortium webinar focused on the history, current events, rights, and risks of pandemics past and present.

We have been lucky to have David Mwambari as a member of our Oxford Consortium group for several years. He has recently completed an exciting book project Beyond History, centering the voices of African scholars in examining Africa’s past and present.
